There is a battle raging for the souls of the young adults in our churches. They are faced with no shortage of voices vying for the affections of their souls. We as Christians, however, can affirm that our greatest satisfaction in life comes from wholehearted service to our Lord. This world possesses no higher calling, more noble a purpose, nor a greater Master than our King. Jesus deserves our complete affection. It is thus our duty as church leaders to call the next generation to an undivided devotion to our Lord. How can we do this? The IFCA stresses the priority of the local church in fulfilling the Great Commission. Therefore, we as local churches in the IFCA collectively present Undivided as a means to call our unmarried young adults to the Lordship of Christ.
The first year’s theme will be the Glory of the Gospel: The Doctrine of Imputation. The speakers will be Bobby Scott, Alex Montoya, David Forsyth, and Milton Vincent.
Please forward this email to anybody who may be interested in Undivided!
What is Undivided?
Undivided is an annual conference dedicated to encouraging and exhorting unmarried young adults to live a life Undivided – a life dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ and the advancement of His Gospel in the local church.
Why unmarried young adults?
This particular season in life is when some of the most profound decisions in life will be made. Marriage, employment, church involvement, and spiritual disciplines will be impacted by choices made during this age.

This is a collaborative event for local So-Cal churches! Read the following from pastors and church leaders below:
Bobby Scott
Pastor – Los Angeles Community Bible Church
We have to figure out how to engage our culture wisely, with the Word of God. I’m really hoping that when our young adults observe problems of immorality in our culture, they will choose to raise up Christian artists who can make better movies, choose to raise up Christian artists who will design modest clothes that are beautiful, and not try to ignore the conversations happening around them, but jump into the conversation with a Christ-centered, Biblical worldview and let the world see what our God looks like on display when we fear Him, when we walk in wisdom. That’s the challenge for this young generation, not just to get morphed into everything around them, and not just ignore everything either, but to confront it with a Biblical worldview, with a God-centered passion to make a change and to make a difference.
Alex Montoya
Pastor – First Fundamental Bible Church, Whittier
The topics we’re offering for our first conference are unique. Topics for conferences targeted at young people usually focus on relationships and the like, but we wanted to set a base of good theological truths that we could build on in future conferences. So the doctrines of sin, depravity, justification, sanctification, judgment – all of these and more will be addressed at Undivided. They are fundamentals of the Christian faith, and without a solid understanding of them, you can’t move on to other topics.
David Forsyth
Pastor – Foothill Bible Church, Upland
The Undivided Conference is designed to specifically cater to unmarried people. As Paul talks about, a married person has divided commitments between the Lord and his family, but an unmarried person has the opportunity to devote all of their energies whole-heartedly to the advancement of the Gospel. My topic at the conference is the problem of sin, and it really sets the stage for the rest of the conference, because unless we understand sin and our relationship to it, we can’t understand why Christ came and gave His life for us. The Bible is good news, but it’s only good news to those who realize just how bad off they really are.
Milton Vincent
Pastor – Cornerstone Fellowship Bible Church, Riverside
I would love to see this generation go crazy with the gospel. Living in the good of it each day, living it out, speaking of it in their words and communicating it through their actions. The gospel is the power of God; it’s where his power resides in its thickest density, so if you take the gospel and put it in the hearts of the people of this generation, there’s no telling what God will do.
Robert Thomas
Adjunct Professor – Master’s Seminary
After devoting over fifty years to learning alongside young seminarians, I am convinced that I learned from them far more than they learned from me. I know that such interaction is by far the best investment one can make in the future. Having studied alongside the speakers at this year’s Undivided Conference, I have been thrilled to see how the Lord has taken their lives, molded them, and used them to multiply in fruit for His glory. I thank the Lord for letting me be a member of the team that had a part in training them to be and do what they are and are accomplishing. May many current church leaders catch a vision of how younger men under their guidance will blossom in the future.
Nam Min Cho
Pastor – Valley Bible Church, Northridge
I am so excited that IFCA So-Cal proclaims such an important doctrine to our young adults through the Undivided Conference. The gospel and the Doctrine of Imputation are matters of life and death. What can be more important in our lives? The Bible says, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”(Mat 16:26). A proper understanding of this doctrine is absolutely crucial because it awakens souls to life, ultimately leading them to eternal life in heaven. Therefore, I urge pastors and church leaders to bring their young adults to this Conference because they will have the opportunity to renew their lives in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Les Lofquist
IFCA International Executive Director
The “Undivided Conference” is a fantastic opportunity for the next generation to be equipped to meet the challenges of their culture, in this day. Through the careful exposition of God’s Word by some dynamic teachers, this specific demographic group will receive encouragement and inspiration. And this is vital! God has called each generation to speak His timeless truth to their time. I am excited by the “Undivided Conference” because of the great potential inherent in young adults to bring glory to God. I strongly urge our pastors and churches to place this conference on the top of their 2011 calendar.
Wayne Wilson
Pastor – Acton Faith Bible Church, Acton
When I look at the broader Bible-believing church, I see many younger, single adults struggling in their Christian walk. They are constantly connected to others by technology, but to what purpose? The culture bombards them with shallow and often corrupt diversions…but what else is there? Contemporary Christian singles need roots, but in what soil will they plant them? The new Undivided conference is designed to help get our young people rooted in that which lastingly satisfies and which presents the most exalted purpose — the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am excited that we have an opportunity to provide our singles, not with a way to kill time for Christ at some event, but with something substantial — direction and rootedness in the glorious truths of the Gospel.
Richard Bargas
Pastor – Grace Baptist Church, Wilmington
With the wolves of this world invading the church from outside and inside the church, it is critical that we arm the church with doctrinally astute young people who can continue to guard the trust of the gospel. In many areas, this current generation of young adults are under attack by false doctrine and worldly philosophies in our educational institutions and the massive amount of media which they consume on a daily basis. The only hope we have to combat and reverse these trends is to inoculate them with the great doctrines of our most precious faith in a worshipping environment amongst their peers. I’m excited about the Undivided Conference because it will achieve all of these needs. My prayer is that IFCA pastors will take advantage of this new conference. I believe that it will not only bless the individuals that attend this event, but that it will bless our churches by flaming the fire in our collegians as well as beginning to establish a solid foundation for the future leaders of our churches and the IFCA.
